Angry Birds!
During the enrichment hour of 4:30-5:30pm at The Gloria J. Parks Community Center Afterschool Program, we try to offer the youth as many exciting and interesting activities as possible. During Group Games recently, the youth were able to participate in a live action version of the popular game Angry Birds! The game encouraged the children to use effective teamwork and cooperation, perfect their trial and error skills, and to understand angles a little better. In addition, the activity was collaborative as our Angry Birds catapult was created in Science the week prior and the red birds were painted by youth during Art class. Everything came together in a really fun way, as the children spent lots of time laughing, coming up with strategies, and of course, knocking down those annoying pigs!
Please enjoy having a look at our version of Angry Birds!:
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the exciting enrichment activities we plan throughout the rest of the school year.
