April Senior News
Last month the seniors participated in their usual weekly activities of Stretch Band Exercise, Bingo, Hustle for Health Seniors Exercise, WII Bowling, Tai Chi, and Shuffleboard. The monthly movie was Princess Bride which was enjoyed by all in attendance. In addition, the students from the University of Buffalo Occupational Therapy Department visited the center March 5th with a informational presentation on the free and inexpensive activities in Buffalo. They returned on March 26th to instruct the seniors for a scrapbooking/memory- keeping event.
A Wellness Seminar was presented by a pharmacist from Wegmans on March 30th about the importance of the pneumonia and shingles vaccines. This month’s field trip, that took place on March 25th, was a visit to the historically famous Broadway Market where the seniors purchased fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats as well as some gifts for loved ones.

For the month of April our scheduled special events will be a visit to the Richmond Summer Senior Center to attend an Easter Brunch on April 2nd, students from the University of Buffali will come to the center to educate the seniors about Prescrption Drug Abuse. Erie County Services will provide a seminar about Nutrition and the Brain on April 22nd.
