Home Repair Funds Available for Delaware District

Thanks to a $200,000.00 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of New York submitted by Evans bank, the University District Community Development Association, Inc. (UDCDA) has launched the home Repair Program. This program will target 20 Owner-occupied homes for the critical home repairs in the 14214, 14215, & 14216 zip codes in the City of Buffalo.  The funding will offer housing repair assistance for the following: siding, replacing windows, doors, driveway, furnace and hot water tanks etc. The program will also leverage funding through NYSERDA to assist homeowner with weatherization and energy efficiency improvements.

The City of Buffalo also have available funds through the Community Development Block Grant to assist owner–occupied homes in the Delaware District with emergency home repairs such as: roof replacement, hazardous chimney, break in the main water & sewer line and faulty electrical service.

In addition, funds are available up to $5,000.00 to assist first time homebuyers with closing costs and down payment for the purchase of a single home in the City of Buffalo.
