Down Payment & Close Cost Assistance Program
The City of Buffalo First Time Home Buyers Down Payment & Closing Cost (DPCC) Program is available with funding up to $ 5,000.00 to assist future homeowners with their down payment & closing cost.
The goal of the DPCC program is to expand home-ownership opportunities by providing financial assistance to low and moderate income first time homebuyers for closing costs related to the purchase of their first home. The following are some additional information on the program:
- Applicant must be a first time homebuyer. A First time homebuyer is defined as an individual and his or her spouse who have not owned a home during the three-year period prior to purchase of a home
- The home to be purchased must be a single-family home located in the City of Buffalo
- The property to be purchased must be in good condition and should be in compliance with both federal Housing Quality Standards and the City of Buffalo housing codes.
Funds are provided as an interest free conditional grant/loan with a five-year term that is secured by a second mortgage on the property.

Delaware District Homeowners – NEED A ROOF? – The City of Buffalo still has funds available for owner occupied homes in need of emergency home repairs. Please contact our housing staff to learn more about the emergency home repair program before funds run out.
