United Healthcare Services to Become New Sponsor for Gloria J. Parks Senior Citizen Activities Program

The University District Community Development Association is happy to announce that it has signed an agreement with United Healthcare Services, Inc. to provide corporate sponsorship support for our Senior Citizen Activities Program.  Effective May 1, 2018 United Healthcare will partner with our agency in the promotion of our wide range of senior activities that we offer both weekly and in special events.

We have a display of United Healthcare health insurance products in our Senior Room every weekday.  Our favorite United Healthcare sales representative, Abe Giles, will be visiting our program on a regular basis to share health insurance and related products for seniors.  Mr. Giles will also arrange free wellness education presentations by health care professionals.

We will work jointly with United Healthcare on outreach initiatives to visit senior apartment complexes, churches, and other locations frequented by adults over 62 years of age.  Associate Director Michael Tritto explains, “We have wanted to increase the visibility of our Senior Program for years, and this sponsorship will enable us to bring our Senior Program staff, literature, and even activities to remote locations to draw new seniors to join our program. Given all the hard work by our Senior Director Phyllis Caver, and the support of this sponsorship, we believe that the Gloria J. Parks Senior Program will have a growth surge of memberships and new activities in 2018.”

Stay tuned for an upcoming free Health Fair for Seniors, sponsored by United Healthcare, that will be planned for late August in the Gloria J. Parks Gym
