We were Awarded a 3 Year NYS 21st Century After School Enrichment Program Grant
Through a lot of hard work and determination our agency was awarded 3 Year NYS 21st Century After School Enrichment Program Grant to continue providing quality after school care to our community. As we enter into a new school year with new teachers, new friends, new learning standards and a plethora of many other new things, it is vitally important that students are engaged in learning not only during the school day, but also during the after school hours. After school hours are sited to be time the most likely for kids to participate in delinquent behaviors. After school is a time to complete homework, reinforce the lessons learned during the day, participate in new enriching activities, develop social skills and new friendships. Fortunately, UDCDA/Gloria J. Parks Community Center is able to provide quality & cutting edge services to Buffalo-area families at no cost.
This New York State Department of Education funded 21st Century After School Enrichment program provides students grades 1- 8 the opportunity to gain assistance with homework, participate in small group New York state preparatory ELA/Math lessons, be engaged in enriching experiences which are not limited to science, engineering, dance, culinary arts, fine arts, health, sports and game zone.
