WNY Prosperity Fellow Allie Smith joins the UDCDA team this summer!

Raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, Allie is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental design with a minor in art history at the University at Buffalo. Since moving to Western New York for her college career, Allie have fallen in love with the region through her involvement with a series of internships and volunteer work in the region, particularly the city of Buffalo.

Previously, Allie has volunteered with organizations in the city such as University Heights Tool Library, Buffalo Public Schools through the ISEP grant and Buffalo/Niagara Riverkeeper. Beyond civic engagement, her passions in planning include historic preservation and how it effects the present landscape, as well as landscape architecture and reimagining existing greenspaces. She love participating in community events and seeing new public art around the city.

Allie is very excited to start interning at the University District Community Development Association and she hopes to make a genuine impact in the area!
